Step 1: Poker Chip Quality
Decide the quality of chips you want: Casino Style or Economical
- Casino Style chips are made out of a Clay Composite. These are the most popular and are the style of chips used in actual casinos.
- Economical chips are made out of Acrylic or Plastic. They're lightweight yet durable and come in a variety of colors. If you're going to buy an Economical chip, no need to go any further. Simply choose the quantity you want to purchase.
Step 2: Poker Chip Pattern
The pattern is the design that encircles the outer ring of the chip on each side.
- Casino Style chips are available in Diamond, Suited, Dice, Striped and Specialty patterns with logos like pictures of playing cards or the classic Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
- Our most popular patterns are the suited patterns. The chip is encircled with clubs, hearts, spades, and/or diamonds.

Step 3: Poker Chip Weight
The most popular weight for casino style poker chips is 11.5 grams, followed by 8 grams. 11.5 gram poker chips feel as though you are holding something of substance. These are standard weight casino chips and by far our best sellers.
Step 4: Poker Chip Value and Quantity
Of course you can assign whatever value you wish to each color poker chip when you sit down to play a game of poker. Keep in mind that you will want to have a larger quantity of low value chips since these get played the most. Here is an example of some commonly accepted values:
- Red Chips = $1
- White Chips = $5
- Green Chips = $25
- Black Chips = $100
Again, you can choose any color for any denomination you prefer, just be sure to buy the appropriate proportions. Here are some quantity suggestions:
- 3 to 4 players, purchase at least 300 chips
- 5 to 6 players, purchase at least 500 chips
- 7 to 8 players, purchase at least 700 chips
